I’m over leather. Instead, I’ve replaced it with vinyl. It started with a high-waist black vinyl skirt from & Other Stories, which I purchased on a shopping trip to London. It then progressed to a red vinyl skirt (which is probably one of my favourite pieces in my wardrobe), before I purchased my teal vinyl skirt.
Guess where I bought it from? OK, if you said Copenhagen, you’d be close, but not close enough. I actually bought it in Aarhus – but it’s the same country, sooooo. From Weekday; I’d been eyeing it online for a while, then when I went into the store they had a sale, so I figured it was meant to be.
I’ve been wearing it a lot to work recently, because it’s casual but it looks so good. I love wearing it with my sheer top and trainers, but it looks equally good with a black velvet turtleneck I bought on the same shopping trip in Aarhus, but this time, from Monki.
I can’t say for sure that I’m over leather for good (I mean, it’s a classic, so I’m sure I’ll be wearing it again at some point), but vinyl skirts have kind of taken over my wardrobe. With the three skirts I have, I’ve basically got all bases covered, complementing the majority of my tops.
My vinyl skirts are so easy to wear, as I can dress them down at work, but then change into boots at the end of the day, and all of a sudden, I’m ready for a night out.
Speaking of skirts, I really love the styles that Weekday have released at the moment, and I’ve bought a near identical style to the teal vinyl skirt, but in black denim (and yes, that was purchased in the Copenhagen store).
I feel like my vinyl skirts are going to be a staple in my wardrobe for a while to come… and I wonder how many more colours I’ll have them in this time next year!
